Day 3: (BLD) Fraser Island - Thursday 12th September 2024

With a hearty breakfast tucked away .. we get ready for an exciting day

There’s a reason Fraser Island is regarded as Australia’s number one whale-watching destination! The humpbacks aren’t just passing by each August through October – they’re taking time out in the calm, sheltered waters off the western bay to socialise, have some fun, learn some essential life skills and nurture their young. For whale watchers it really is a case of who’s watching whom on these magical days out… everyone is encouraged to wave their arms and make a bit of noise, to capture the attention of these inquisitive creatures. The humpbacks’ natural curiosity takes over. They glide up to the boats and in return, put on an almighty show – slapping their tails, waving their pec fins and breaching into the air, for a truly larger-than-life spectacle.

The team aboard Quick Cat II will provide an unforgettable day out on the World Heritage-listed waters, joining in on the excitement as you witness these oceanic giants up close.

We then return for a hearty lunch back at the Resort

Time now for a rest beside the pool or choose to go for a stroll before we are joined by one of the rangers for a Bush Tucker talk and taste – then a special dinner in the Dune Restaurant

Day 4: (BL) Fraser Island - Home - Friday 13th September 2024

After breakfast – no need to rush this morning — we are transferred to the ferry for the journey back to the mainland.

Boarding our coach, we travel to Maryborough for a visit and lunch before commencing our journey home.
